Braxton Miller hospitalized in Ohio State's win over Purdue

10:07PM EDT October 20. 2012 - Braxton Miller was carted off the field after suffering an injury in the third quarter of Ohio State's game against Purdue.
Miller was tackled by cornerback Josh Johnson at the tail end of a 37-yard run, falling on his left, non-throwing shoulder before slamming his head on the turf.
He remained on the field for a few minutes before being helped to the sidelines, where he underwent a lengthy examination by Ohio State's medical personnel. He was then put onto a cart and brought into OSU's locker room.

Ohio State would overcome a 12-point deficit over the game's final five minutes to beat Purdue 29-22 in overtime. Kenny Guiton, replacing Miller at quarterback, drove the Buckeyes on a seven-play, 70-yard drive to tie the game with three seconds remaining in regulation.
Running back Carlos Hyde scored a 1-yard touchdown in the first overtime. Purdue was unable to gain a first down in its overtime possession, allowing the Buckeyes to move to 8-0, 4-0 in Big Ten play.

Ohio State said after the game that Miller was taken to the university's on-campus medical center because of concerns of a possible concussion.
After he was examined by the staff at Wexner Medical Center, Ohio State found that Miller was "symptom free of all ailments" and was "doing fine."
"He is in the process of being released from the hospital," university spokesman Jerry Emig said.
Miller entered this week ranked second in a USA TODAY Sports Media Group survey of 35 Heisman Trophy voters.
